A talented female rapper from Charlotte, North Carolina, KAYE’s love for the rap game stems all the way back to her childhood when she would perform with her friends. After leaving the world and coming into the truth, KAYE had to find her unique style as a righteous rapper so she strengthened her voice by creating videos for social media (Instagram).
Much of her musical style has been influenced by artists like J-Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and others from the jazz and pop genres. KAYE’s melodic appetite can be attributed to her playing the piano, which has helped her to develop an appreciation for a variety of music genres as well.
KAYE’s process for writing new music is as simple as listening to the beat and letting the rhythm guide her. She’s collaborated with other artists such as Zahava, Moriah, Nazir, Second Kings, Moses, Yana, and more. Her overall goal for creating music is to exhort her nation and show the world a different kind of female rapper. Music has a significant impact on our youth and she wants to positively encourage them by showing them another way. Her album ‘Autopilot’ represents finding her unique style and embracing her femininity.
