Singer and songwriter Ohanna is known for her soft, distinctive voice, and brings a new, unique sound to Original Royalty Recordings. She was born and raised on the island of St Martin where she witnessed a lot of poverty, causing her to be very humble. At the age of 12, she migrated to Boston and a couple years later became the 3rd member of a three-girl group called Cisum.
Although she was very timid when singing in front of others, Ohanna knew her voice was distinctive. This created tension among her groupmates and her self-confidence was negatively impacted as a result. Nevertheless, the three-girl team was on the verge of securing a record deal with Motown Records but Ohanna soon realized this was not her calling.
A few years later, she moved to Rhode Island where she met her now husband. Through his love and support, her passion for music was reignited and she began singing and songwriting again. Some of Ohanna’s musical influences were Keshia Cole, India Arie and Lauren Hill. Her music genre is a mixture of R&B and pop, stylistically representing her past and current experiences. Since becoming a new creature in Christ, she has been involved in different collaborations with other artists such as Kaye, Zahava and more.
