Currently living in Dallas, Texas Charleston, South Carolina native Zai, an artist with a knack for playing various musical instruments. As the son of a military father, Zai grew up in a strict household where learning music was critical and playing the piano, trombone and drums was just a normal way of life. As he navigated through adolescence, Zai was inspired to make beats by musical legend Timbaland and created music people can enjoy.
At the beginning of his music career, Zai was mentored by gospel recording artist Kirk Franklin, working with him on his 8th album Hero (certified as Gold by the RIAA on December 2, 2005 and Platinum on December 14, 2006) and his 9th album The Fight of My Life, at ages 18 and 20 respectively. At the prime of his career, Zai has worked with a long list of artists like Keisha Cole, Chris Brown, Eric Bellinger, Wale, Jeremih, Nipsey Hustle, 2 Chainz, Day26, Danity Kane, and Gladys Knight.
The epiphany to become an artist manifested itself after Zai came into the truth. He realized he could use his wealth of knowledge to improve Israel’s musical landscape by refining and redefining truth music. Anything and everything he learns in the world is applied to the movement so the nation of Israel can grow. He’s collaborated with in-the-truth artists such as Solomon The Jew, Sons of God, One Lily, Rena, Yeremiah, and Neah to name a few.
Although he’s dabbled in all music genres including country, Zai’s music genre for his personal projects is primarily R&B and Pop. He creates music with the desire to see our music – truth music – on a worldwide stage where it is competing with worldly music, demanding to be heard by repented and non-repented listeners alike. Currently, he’s working on several projects with numerous OR Recordings artists but will be taking a break to spend time with his wife and family before he creates any more personal projects.
